Positive Psychology And "Self Help"

There has never really been anything too scientific about personal development and self help.

Generally, if someone finds something that works they write a book on it, and lots of people buy it (such is the case with "Self Help" by Samuel Smiles of course).

What works in the 'art' of making your life as good as it can be has largely been left to the so-called self-help gurus.

But there is a new branch of psychology that is making amends for all that.

It is called 'Positive Psychology', and it studies what it is that makes individuals (and groups of people) live meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Whereas it is more descriptive than prescriptive, it sets the framework for changes that anyone can make in order to dramatically improve the quality of their life.

But the most interesting thing?

The fact that many of the studies that have been done (and there have been many) SUPPORT EXACTLY WHAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN IN "SELF HELP"!!

I'll not go into detail here, but study after study comes up with the same basic findings about happiness, success and fulfilment in life that Smiles wrote about all those years ago in 1859.

I was amazed looking at the details - recognising things in a modern-day scientific setting that I had read about in this 150 year old book!

In fact the findings are so interesting and relevant, not only to Samuel Smiles's work but to all of our efforts to making the most of our lives, that I have written a special report that you get free when you download your very own copy of "Self Help".
